Peony plant?

I bought peony bulbs about two years ago. I am not sure if these are them because I can't find any real good images online of the leaves or stalks. They are getting really thick stalks and don't want to be stuck with a huge tree sprouting up out of nowhere.

Can anyone tell me for sure these are them? TIA
Edited to add.... the plant is on the left (the plant on the right on the stakes are green beans)

Re: Peony plant?

It doesn't look like a peony plant from the picture you posted. They're more of a bush, not a stalk like you describe. This is a picture of a leaf from my peony.

It doesn't look like my peonies. My peonies are a dark green and a bit bushier. But that doesn't mean it isn'tChat Icon

That's not a peony plant.
Here is what it looks like. They also would have bloomed already and by what you posted it doesn't look like that plant did.

Re: Peony plant?

No, that's not a peony plant. I know peonies get stressed very easy (takes almost 2 years to bloom with replanting), but not sure about from bulbs. I would wait maybe 1 more year, but it doesn't look good for the bulbs if it has been two years, sorry.

I think peonies are one of the hardest to grow from seed, not sure if a bulb is the same thing.

Re: Peony plant?

I have 2 of them. I planted both last year as a plant. This year one of tem had 2 blooms and the flowers both died because of all the rain we had. The other one has not bloomed. Someone I work with grows these and told me to wait another year or two and they both will start to bloom a lot of flowers.
