Who is the "tougher" parent

Mikayla has been quite a handful lately. I think it has to do with the new baby coming but also it is just her age

anyway, I find myself being more firm with her lately and dh is more of a softie. I also notice that she is gravitating more to DH, I guess cause I am tougher with her.

How about your family dynamics?

I'm definitely the tougher parent. I really would have thought it would have been DH who is the tougher parent, but its not!

Even though, she still wants me 24/7.

For the most part I am the tougher parent. My patience for certain things is thin and I am usually the one to use the stern voice and put him in time out. I think that growing up with all brothers, DH is more patient with the running around and stuff.

On the other hand...I can be the softy at with other things...when DS wants something (lately it's chapstick) I give it to him whereas my husband won't let him have it. Same with the toothbrush. He likes to have it so I give it to him...DH takes it away.

Depends - we switch off for the most part but I think DH is probably the tougher of the two of us.

Me, by far. JT is tough, but not in the same way I am. I don't really yell at her and I don't make empty threats. If I warn her and tell her that the next time she throws a fit then we're not having tv anymore for the rest of the day, I do it. If he makes a threat, it's something ridiculous and he doesn't always follow through. He's working on it. He also takes her tantrum personally and lets it affect his mood. While it can happen to me sometimes, not nearly as much as it does to him, and I can deal with her on her level more. I think a lot of it has to do with me being a teacher. However, I think he's a a "tough" parent, but I'm "tougher".

she still comes to me if she is hurt or something but If I am firm with her, she will cry and say "I want my daddy"

I think she just knows how to "play me"

Dh is tough.... he is really firm and I am all about negotiating. I think a lot of it is because I spend more time with her so I am more in tune with how to get the outcomes that I want. I also believe in picking my battles.

Im definitely the tougher parent.....Im the rule enforcer, while DH is the roll around on the floor and play parent. Although DS favors me.

Me! DH thinks that DS should be able to do anything that isn't hurting himself or others.

I am more strict. DH is all fun on the weekends. Mommy is there all the time so she is NOT too exciting like daddy and we have a strict schedule too during the week.

ME without a doubt. DH is a total pushover.
ETA she is totally a mama's girl even though DH is the nicest to her and i am constantly laying down the law! i don't get it!

It's hard to be tough on a 10 month old but I would say me.

I'm definitely the tougher one..i think its because I am home with her everyday so if I dont put an end to something before it becomes a bad habbit I will be dealing with it, unlike DH who is working and not home.

Neither one of us is a softy at all, but I would say I am definitely tougher. It's interesting to see that the moms all seem to be the disciplinarians!

I don't think DH has ever even had a "tough" moment. Just fun fun fun.

Josh will still always go to me. Leo is always in shock that I am the chosen parent.'

It even goes as far as when we are eating, Josh will look at me and ask me if he can have Leo's tomatos off his sandwich
