SAHMs and Moms that are off for the summer...
What do you do with your babies to keep them occupied during the summer?
Maya is 8 months and I am trying to think of things to do with her/places we can go!

i'm a teacher/librarian and have off for the summer. this is the first real summer i have off with DD who is 2. honestly, we run so many errands most of the time. by the time they are done we come home for lunch and she naps. otherwise for fun, we go to the park, beach, library,on walks, play in the yard with her outdoor toys (when it's not raining! ugh), there is also white post farms, another little local farm nearby, out to lunch, to the mall, barnes & noble, watch t.v., color,play W/ play-doh, we tried Chuck E. Cheese but she hated it 
i'm sure the other moms will have more suggestions!
i realize that an 8 month old can't "do" as much but they still like to get out

Park
Walk on Boardwalk- DS likes Captree to look at the boats
Smaller beaches- we love Crab meadow in Huntington
Mall to be airconditioning on hot days
Story time at B&N or Pottery Barn Kids
We have a water table and wading pool in the yard.

PBK is on Tuesdays at 11 at Roosevelt Field
Borders also has it on Fridays
The webistes have it by store. It's free and air coinditioned AND the bookstore ones sell coffee

we go to the parks and playgrounds, holtsville zoo, hoyt farm, sprinkler parks at the beach or hoyt farm, aquarium in riverhead, lots of playdates at peoples houses (belong to 3 mommy groups), mall for walking when it really hot or raining, library, book stores for story time, play places like mommy & me, gymboree, etc for open play. There is so much to do!

Mommy group on Mondays.
Little Gym on Wednesdays
Music Together on Fridays
Tuesdays and Thursdays are errand days.

DS is 14 months, DD is 2 months. This summer we plan on playgrounds, swimming, Aquarium, Bronx Zoo, Long Island Game Farm. I will also be taking a Little Gym class with DS once a week while my mom stays with DD.

Last summer DD was about that age and we hung out in the baby pool, went to Storytime at Barnes and Noble and went to classes at our public library.
