Re: slide in range

Don't have one, but my grandmother does - hers is flush against the wall as well as flush with her cabinets on the front.

The knobs/control area extend a little but that's it.

What did the installation guys say? There definitely should NOT be a gap behind it.

my husband is installing and said that its not right...but we called the place where we bought it, and they said that every slide in range for the past 5 years is like that???

Re: slide in range

Maybe that's true - my grandmother's stove is like 15 yrs old.

I just google imaged pics and it looks like they all have spaces behind it.

Here's one - see how the countertop goes behind it? I guess that's how you'd fill it in...

my range has the "gap" behind it
the granite was cut to go behind the range - then they mixed something with ground down granite so you can't see the seam

in our apartment, the gas line sticks out a bit so we weren't able to push the range in all the way

Re: slide in range

I have one...mine has the granite behind it - did you tell the installer that you had this type of stove? They should have suggested the piece. I would call the granite place up and see if they will do it for you. It's a small piece. If not, the stove comes with a metal piece for the back

Re: slide in range

The granite place didn't ask what kind of range you had? There is granite behind the range, the range doesn't go all the way to the wall. It lines up perfectly with the cabinets... here's a pic:

I would call back the countertop people and thell them they messed up. They might be able to add a piece behind the stove.
