we made an offer!! (update: will be pulling it)
we went to see the house again with ILs this time and made an offer on the spot  the owner is in FL right now. hopefully, we hear back from them soon
we know they want to move asap since they moved most of their stuffs oversea. do you think us offering a 50% down payment and closing date whenever they wanted (of course as soon as the mortgage is approved) is a good incentive for them?
update:
heard from our agent a moment ago. they countered with a price b/t asking and what we offered.
we will give them our last offer. should i call them later, tomorrow, a few days?
update (6/29)
we went to look at the house 1 more time. even though we love it, we're pretty sure we'll pull out our offer. at the end, we want a bigger yard for our kids to grow with

Goodluck- I think that sounds like a deal they can't pass up. Hopefully you will get to enjoy that beach this summer too!!!! That would be great.

If you and your DH have a number you want to counter with I would do it sooner than later.
Having been both a buyer and seller, I HATE games. If they agree with your counter the sooner you can get things rolling. If they accept the sooner you can look at other houses without thinking about this one.

totally understand your decision if you do pull it. we are looking at a house right now (right neighborhood, lots of potential, etc) but has very little land. We're trying to get past that so far b/c the house would be great, but it's tough.

I"m sorry I know how frustrating it can be. Did you look at the house on Manor drive. That's great neck address manhasset schools on a bit lot...from what is seems like from mls
