Girls contemplating JHS
My hair air-dried Smooth, Shiny, and Straight in this thunderstorm today I had my roots done last week and this is the best it has came out (my 4th time). I love no maintenance hair. Just had to brag!

Hi Julz!
Thanks for posting this!
I got mine done two weeks ago.
I have layers throughout my hair and it air dries kind of choppy and tousled, which isn't necessarily a bad look, but not as smooth and blended as I'd like...
Do you have layers in your hair? I'm wondering if I should just grow them out completely??
Thanks!!

Re: Girls contemplating JHS
Great post. Like Julz, I had mine retouched on Saturday. Came out so nice(even though my regular girl left ). Washed it this am and it dried great. I don't blow it out - just wash and wear. Best 150.00 I ever spent.

Re: Girls contemplating JHS
I wish I had the same results.
The last two times I've had it done, I've been really disappointed with the results. I would blame it on the highlighting I had done last August, but I just had my roots done last Tuesday and they're still curly/frizzy and that was "virgin" hair.

Re: Girls contemplating JHS
Ok I am SERIOUSLY considering JHS at this point. Please answer a few of my questions (these are the things that are making me doubt whether or not to do it):
1. Can you still curl your hair. I know one person said she can curl it with a curling iron, but does the curl hold at all? I like to curl my hair for special occassions.
2. I don't like my ends PIN straight - I'd rather they have a bit of body/curl under a bit. Can I still do this if I do JHS? I assume I would need to curl the ends in, but just checking.
3. I just colored my hair on Saturday. Up until late last year, I used to color AND highlight my hair - still safe to do JHS and how long would I need to wait?
4. I have a funny shaped head and need to have some volume at the crown of my head or else it looks kinda funny. Would I be able to have or get volume at least at the crown of my head or will it just be dead/flat straight?
Sorry for all the questions, but I would REALLY appreciate everyone's opinions that have had this done.

Yes, I do have layers. I hate layers with JHS. I cut the layers in January since I was blowing my roots out a lot and needed a change. But I think I am going to cut a few inces off the get rid of some layers. I took some pics, I'll post tonight.

Re: Girls contemplating JHS
1. Yep. My hair holds a curl from curling iron. I can also make it wavy by sleeping with french braid in damp hair. I'll see if I have any pics.
2. You would have to blow out with round brush or use a curling iron. Thats the one thing I don't particularly like either, the ends are VERY straight. But spending zero time on my hair and having zero frizz is worth the straight ends.
3. I don't color my hair so I'm not sure.
4. You can ask them to start further from your scalp to leave some volume. I find that after 2 weeks I get some volume back as new hair comes in.
