If you have other DC's, do you feel overwhelmed?

I feel like I am losing my patience more easily with DS Chat Icon I am tired...DH has been working a different schedule this week which I am not used to. He has been whining and have temper-tantrums off and on. I just feel like I am going to lose it. I have a bad upper respiratory infection since last week. I had to take DS to the dr. yesterday b/c I think he is coming down with it.

I guess it will pass Chat Icon

It depends on the day. Some days are easy - some are torture and I can't wait for bedtime. Chat Icon Chat Icon For the most part, we have more better days thank god, but it'd def. very very very hard taking care of a toddler who doesn't understand that they can't kick your belly, or have tantrums as they are walking up the stairs. I don't feel overwhelmed but I am absolutely exhausted and it's tough to keep up with DD. She has no idea why mommy is so tired. Bath time is a disaster. I feel terrible and it makes me wonder how I will do it if we decide to go for a third.

Re: If you have other DC's, do you feel overwhelmed?

great thread! I am due end of the month and have a 23month DD. We used to do so much together. parks, pools, malls, rides - something everyday. Now i feel like all we do is sit in the den with the door closed so I dont have to chase her around. When I change her she kicks my belly ( and I have a breech so she is jabbing the head) that I get huddled over in pain.
I used to have more patience with her and she is very good but I dont have the energy or comfort level at this point anymore.
Part of me wants to hurry up and deliver but then the new baby will get all the attention and I am having a c-section so the recovery will be longer
Wonder if I spaced the 2 out if it would have been easier.
I should be potty training her now before she turns 2 but just cant seem to now. I feel like this new one is draining all my DD's attention sometimes - terrible to say I knowChat Icon

Re: If you have other DC's, do you feel overwhelmed?

Boy, do I know what you're going through! My DD is 23 months old and I am due the 1st week of August. DH works nights every other week and is up and out before I even get out of bed on the weeks he works days. So I am either struggling to get to work on time on my own with a 23 month old, or I am feeding, bathing, changing and trying to entertain her at night on my own.
I feel so guilty for just not having the energy to play hide and seek and run around with her - and she can't understand why mommy just wants to lay on the couch and let her watch Noggin before going to bed...I can't even imagine how tired and exhausted I am going to be when DD #2 arrives in August.
Wish I could afford to hire a nanny.....just to help out and let me do the fun stuff with my DD.

Re: If you have other DC's, do you feel overwhelmed?

I feel exhausted - but I think once I have two I may feel overwhelmed. There are some days I will let DS watch Sesame Street twice and for me that is a lot of tv. I am just so tired. There are other days that we completely have our act together and are great. But those days where I am just exhausted I feel so badly about. Also, I feel like the spring/summer has not gotten here yet b/c some days it feels chilly. It is those type of days, if we have nothing planned that I feel the worst about.

OMG....I wanted to post the same exact thing!!! I totally understand what you're going through. I work full time and a per-diem job every other Saturday with a 17 month old who is full of energyChat Icon Chat Icon I feel bad b/c I want to play with her but some nights I am just so exhausted. I wish we could hire a nanny, but can't afford it anyway. DH has been working long hours leaves before me in the am and comes back about 9pm at night. We have loads of laundry to do and some nights I don't even feel like cooking!!! I just don't know how I'm going to do it with it 2 under 2. I'm scaredChat Icon
Like another poster stated too....whoa whats going to happen if we decide to have a third.

I dont feel overwhelmed when it comes to DS but do feel overwhelmed because I work FT. I hate not being able to be "supermom" and juggle being a mom, wife and work. I hate not being able to hold DS for too long or be able to lay him down in his crib (belly is in the way) just little things like that Chat Icon

I wont lie, I do. Somedays are cake, but the bigger I get the harder just day to day activities are and having someone to take care of makes it harder.

I lost my temper at the begininng when I was so tired etc a LOT. Now Its much better .

Hang in there Chat Icon
