starting to pack... have a ? about leaving things behind
i'm posting some pictures to help you understand what i'm talking about.
we have a bunch of wood shelves in the kitchen, dinning room and bath room (see pictures)
do we leave them behind for the new owner or take them down, fix the holes and repaint the area.
the first option is the easiest but will the new owner be happy or p i s s e d??? Image Attachment(s):

Can you ask the buyers if they want them left behind? The people we bought the house from asked us if we wanted a bunch of stuff that they had - we opted to keep some and let them do away with some.

take pics of everything you are unsure about and have them emailed to the buyers and let the buyers decide.

Our previous owners left shelves. I threw them out before we even moved our stuff in, but I wasn't mad about it. I was going to paint anyway.

I don't think that they expect you to take the shelves down and repaint before you move. I would just leave it and let them decide when they move in. They may want to make changes to the house after they bring their stuff in.

if you don't want them, leave them. They will end up using them or tossing them but they will most likely paint anyway. The previous owners of our house left things that that behind and some came in handy!

I agree with pp- ask the buyers if they want them- the previous owner of our coop did that and we were so grateful- she left us all the window blinds and a bunch of shelves- most we kept and some we gradually replaced as we could afford too
