Woohoo! Got a check for an overage on escrow... so we're getting...
FLOR carpet tiles for our living room!! Right now we have an inexpensive seagrass rug (which is rough and hard to clean) in there which we knew would be temporary and now that we got over $400 back for an escrow overage we are going to use it towards the FLOR rug kit we want. 
We're going with the Sea Grass Stripe Rug Kit. Does anyone have these FLOR carpet tiles? This kit comes with Velvet Twist carpet tiles in 4 colors.

that is awesome!
my DH is obsessed with carpet tiles b/c our precious dog can be spiteful and will pee on our area rug  its not often but we've gone through 2 area rugs already - right now i gave up - no rug in the living room because of it 
DH thinks carpet tiles will be the best thing when we get a house b/c if she pees we can just reomove the soiled part to clean it - or replace it - but i'm not sure if they can be seperated once you put them down? and can they go in the wash?
but anyways you have to let me know how it goes when you get it! i LOVE those colors! i think it will look fantastic! that is such a score!!

just a word of warning- everyone I know that has ever gotten an escrow refund- had a shortage the next year

Very nice! My friends used carpet tiles for their nursery so they could swap out the pink squares for blue ones if (and ultimately when) the next baby was a boy! They did pink/green/white with baby #1 then blue/green/white with #2!

Ditto this. I wouldn't spend that money unless you are sure you can cover it again in a few months. This same thing happened to my sister and then the bank realized they were really short a few months later and asked for that money back. It was a good thing they never spent it.

I hate to burst the excitement bubble but, I agree with Beth.
This happened to us. We got an overage check onE year, came up short the next year and then when they told us we were getting another check this year, we told them to KEEP IT IN ESCROW!!!
I'm not sure how much the FLOR tiles cost but, maybe you can save half of it just incase.

Well, on another note I just check out the flor website and it turns out I used to work for Interface Inc!! I remember right before I left they were releasing this residential line. It's a great product!
I hope it works out!!

KimberlyScott - thanks for the info, I can't wait to see them in person. They look awesome on the website!
As for the escrow $$, got a whole big letter on why there was an overage and they showed us all the math, etc. But, if they come up with a shortage next year it's not an issue. We'll just pay it.
