Regular shower doors that are attached to the tub?
We did this. Wasn't a big deal at all. We had a few small holes that I just filled with some caulking.

Like the PP said, I don't think it's a big deal at all. i remember doing this in one apartment I had, getting the glue off the tub from the track at the bottom wasn't a sinch but not too difficult.

Re: Has anyone ever taken down Glass Shower Doors?
That is a good question - i was wondering the same thing....
The master bath in the house we are interested in has doors - its a standing shower - not a tub shower - and the doors are those builder grade frosty kind....I don't really care for them at all....The shower is about as big as the kind that would be attached to a tub though- its not the small stall kind....I think it would like better looking with a shower curtain....I would like to replace it with fancier doors eventually but since there isn't tile in there right now (its one of those one piece things inside) i rather just put up a curtain...I'm just not sure about the water spilling out the floor since its not a tub/shower....

Re: Has anyone ever taken down Glass Shower Doors?
The house we just got had the doors out already but the track still there. Depends on how old the glue is!!! 1 side and the bottom track came off now problem..but one side was a PIA!!! Took a couple of hours of work to get off....going slow so not to break anything. After that it was just scrapping off the glue and filling tiny holes...... It was so worth it to me...I like having the curtain!

I haven't done it personally, but I recall watching it be done on a home improvement show... Before you start, try to make sure that there wasn't a new tile job put up w/o first removing the door... On that show, they couldn't salvage the tiles becuase they were actually stuck to the door frame
theoretically, it should be fairly straight forward.....

I wish I could do this, but my glass doors are attached to tile. How would I patch up the holes in the tile?

We had to fill the holes with caulk. You can't see it, however since the curtain covers it. Anything was better than our horrible swan frosted shower glass doors
