To what age do you use a bassinet on a stroller?

I want to buy the bassinet add on to our orbit infant system but DH thinks it's a waste of $280 because we won't use it for long.

I was just curious how long you usually use a bassinet. I know the Bugaboos also have bassinets.

Since day 1 I have just had her in the regular part of the stroller.

So I do think it is a waste of money. JMO

I used it till 5 months. It was great.

It's usually up to 5-6 months or they outgrow it in heigth. OR until they can stand/raise themselves. It's just like in a bassinet at home in term of safety.

I have the Bugaboo Chameleon.. they say to use the bassinett portion until 5-6 months. i ABSOLUTELY love it...... She sleeps really well in it when we are out!

i have the bug and used the bassinet under 5 times. sasha prefers to be in the car seat so i just attach that to the bug base.

eta- i am also walking around city streets, so the bassinet gets really bumpy for her-- she slides all over the place.
