Day 1 of Project "Get Jack to Feed Himself"
He fed himself his entire oatmeal with a spoon! I was so excited! I had to leave the room because it was taking him soooo long and I knew I would just take control if I sat there.
So - YAY Jack - and YAYYYY Me for not giving in!
Let's see how the rest of the day goes!

Go Jack!!! The only problem with them feeding themselves is that they always want to so it gets hard when we go out and I don't want her making a mess.

Thats awesome that he took right to it!!!! And I totally agree about leaving the room while they eat. Mads eats SOOOooOOOOooooOOOoo slow sometimes.

He actually doesn't eat when we're out ( ) so I don't think I'll have to worry about that. We have a Communion today though - so we'll see!

Welcome to a whole new kind of freedom!!! I have to admit that in the beginning we used to put a garbage bag under the highchair to cover the floor.

How did Day 2 go??
HA! Well, yesterday afternoon we had a Christening and he was looking all dapper in his little suit (go check out Facebook ) so I was scared to let him feed himself - but he did. Chicken fingers dipped in ketchup - and he did a great job!
This morning was DH's morning to feed him and he ate half of the oatmeal.
Lunch - only finger foods nothing crazy.
Dinner - I made him eggs with cheese and I decided to feed it to him since most of the time he won't eat eggs (and I felt too sick to make him another meal)
So - overral we did ok I think!
