Need Ideas, Who is Creative????
Hey Chica's.
So, we're so busy busy packing and we have this old mirror that used to belong to DH's parent's. When they moved to Florida, we took it and put it up (i have no idea why, it's hideous) and now...I want to take it with us (again, I have no idea why lol). Anyway, I'm thinking, the only way I can justify taking this thing is if I can do something with it or find a place to put it.
Who's creative?? Should I build a nice wood border around it?? Where can I put it. . . . . . . . . . . or should I leave it??
Oh...and my SD made me take the second pic with the "peace sign" because she says i'm a nerd.
Thanks Ladies!!

I say take it and either frame it or build a frame around it on the wall. It can really go anywhere. If it's big enough and you don't have a head board, you can put it over your bead, or over the couch, or above a dresser or server in your dining room. I love big mirrors!

Yeah, my grandma has a really small living room, and she has a big mirror like that over one wall. it opens up the room sooooooooooo much! (And its nice when you need a mirror but someone is in the bathroom )

Re: Need Ideas, Who is Creative????
So true...i'm trying to get ideas of where to put it
I would love to do something fancy like put it in my dining room or living room but I don't really know which spot?! I mean, we can put it in the bathroom but....I just wanted to be cool enough to find a better spot for it lol. There just doesn't seem to be that "RIGHT" spot. I'll have to put some pics of the place up so you guys can see what I mean.

Re: Need Ideas, Who is Creative????
i didn't look at the link that PP posted, but, i would simply put molding around it on a large wall, then go to martha stewart dot com and do the etching thing on the corners in some tracing-thing that you can find at michaels...
i saw a "dot" thing recently for dog bowls, it actually looks like etched glass...
take it!!

I would take it, like the other ladies said you can add molding & use it to open up a room. If you flip it you can use it as a semi full length mirror in a bedroom.

What a really great website! You can frame it and put it in an entrance way depending on how big or high the wall is. You will definitely find somewhere to put it.

Iknow, i'm really excited about it. I haven't decided yet so any other ideas are great :) We bought a High Ranch so the Foyer isn't really that big. I was thinking of putting it at the area between the living room and dining room..I really need to get some pics up and ideas !! Thanks ladies!!!!

Re: Need Ideas, Who is Creative????
I'm sure you'll find a place for it. I like mirrors too. You can also have it cut into different or better usable sizes/shapes at a glass place for usually not that much. If it's a good quality mirror, it's worth it to keep it. New mirrors these days, to me, do not seem as good as older ones.
Some ideas...
Cut it down to fit the top of a side table or nightstands for bling.
Cut it into a three narrow strips to hang spaced apart in your foyer.
Cut it long and narrow to hang horizontally over a dining buffet or living room couch.
Have scraps cut to fit 8x10 and/or 5x7 picture frames to do a fun grouping.

Re: Need Ideas, Who is Creative????
framing it or cutting it down like BnBDreamin said are great ideas. We have a Hi-Ranch, and I'm sure you can find a place for it. DR or the large wall that is usually by the entrance way. I guess once we see pics we can give you some more ideas. Def. take it with you, I'm sure you will use it.

Thank you....thank you...thank you!
DH and I are buying a house that has an unframed mirror over the fireplace. Last week, I thought, hum, it would be nice to have molding around that and voila....here's my answer!
