Window hardware

How do you choose the color, i.e. black, pewter, bronze gold, etc.? Do you match it up to your furniture or what do you do?

I'm looking at some double rods and I love how the black stands out, but then I am getting new couches probably in brown so I son't know if I should go matchy matchy or no?

I matched mine with the fixtures in the house. Ex: My light in the dining area is pewter so I bought a pewter rod.

Mine vary from room to room. I go by the "feel" of the room and the type of window treatments I'm using.

My master bedroom and DD's room have wood rods that have gold finishes. Our family room has a wood that has almost an oil rubbed bronze finish and our dining room and DS's room have cerry wood finishes.

We matched our hardware to the items or look of the particular room it's in.

In our MB we have Antique Bronze (rubbed black look) lamps, bed and black furniture so we went with the antique bronze hardware on those windows.

In our LR we have brushed silver lamps so we went with the brushed silver hardware.
