Dryed out Hair? Any suggestions??
So my hair feels kinda dried out. Tomorrow I have highlights scheduled, which is drying too (I think). I always have a glaze put in after the highlights, but is there anything else I can ask for? I feel like my hair is just so dried out.. or any products you can recommend?

I don't have any specific recommendations as for products, but yes highlights will probably dry out your hair. Ask them for a deep conditioning treatment - that should help.
I've also had a deep conditioner applied and then they "flat iron" my hair (the iron is protected with foil I believe) while the deep conditioner is still in my hair to open the cuticles and allow the treatment to work better. My hair is usually VERY soft and shiny afterwards.

I leave conditioner in my hair...I comb it through my hair in the shower and do not rinse it out....it makes my hair much softer and manageable...you would think it would make it greasy, but with dry hair it doesn't.

Hmm find out if they can do a deep conditioning treatment where u sit under the heat lamp for like 15 mins.
It's not a wonder treatment but it DOES help somewhat!

this is exactly what they do with the "glaze" they put in, maybe I will ask for a deep conditioer instead of the glaze thanks

Re: Dryed out Hair? Any suggestions??
the BEST thing i ever did for my hair was get the keratin treatment. i know people think of it as a straightening treatment but its really not. its makes it more manageable and HEALTHY! i blow dry and either flat iron or curl it every day. i color it every few months lots of times with highlights, and my hair is now soft, shiny, and healthy. worth every penny IMO

Aveda damage remedy shampoo is excellent. I have also been using the Moroccan oil conditioner and it has helped with the dryness from highlights

I did the mayo thing many years ago and it was a terrible experience for me...my hair smelled like mayo for weeks it seemed like...just thinking about it makes me want to gag.

Re: Dryed out Hair? Any suggestions??
Since I was a little girl my mother has put olive oil on my hair.
I still do this about once every month and half or so.
Depending on how thick your hair is - I use about 1/2 cup maybe a bit less. Massage into your scalp and ends. I take a hot towel and wrap my hair in it...let it sit for about 30minutes to an hour.
Than just wash it out - shampoo & conditioner.
Also on a daily basis I apply a good defrizz serum on my ends only - to keep them from getting frizzy

really?? maybe it was just u thinking u smelled?? lol so sorry about ur experience! i would definetly say don't do it on a night when u're going out - do it on a night when u're staying in! and heather - definetly get regular mayo...there's not as much fatty oils in the light ones.. and if it helps ur opinion at all - my cousin has been a hairdresser at an AWESOME salon for years, and she still does this..!

Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask works wonders - my hair got super dried out when I had hilights and after one or two treatments my hair felt like silk.
