How long does it take your toddler to fall asleep at night?

Thomas will be two in April. I put him to bed between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., but, some nights, it takes him as long as an hour to fall asleep. He listens to his soother, talks to his Elmo and Duckie, plays around in his crib, etc.

Is this normal?

I'm wondering what's going to happen when we transition to toddler bed and he can get out...

my girls (2 1/2 years old and 17 months old) take about an hour sometimes even 2 to fall asleep at night. They share a room and both are in twin beds. So I hears them giggle and playing together every night.

Troy is still in his crib too. He generally falls asleep w/i 30 minutes. Some nights sooner.

IF they didn't take a nap, usually within 10 min. On average usually 20 mins but sometimes it can take 45 mins.

Jay is 2 and is in the crib, while Nate is 3.5 yrs and in a toddler bed.

We usually try to put DD in her crib at about 7/7:15 and it will take her a good 1/2 hour of rolling around and getting comfy, singing etc...before she falls asleep.

Sometimes 20 minutes, but most of the time I can hear him snoring pretty quickly, within 5 minutes. He loves getting into bed....
