would you do this? Undecided about finding out sex
DH and I, actually it's mostly me, are undecided if we want to find out the sex. We did with DS but part of me would really like it to be a surprise at the end with this one.
Anyway, my mother and DH's cousin who I am very close with are completely insane about me finding out the sex. Actually, they dont care if I find out but they want to know  Anyway, my mom came with me to find out when I was pregnant with DS. She wants to know what this one is and wants me to let the sono tech tell her but she swears she wont tell me and honestly, she won't.
At the same time, DH's cousin sent me the funniest e-mail today. She asked me if she sends me a self-addressed envelope will I let the sono-tech write it on a piece of paper and than mail it back to her? I thought that was actually kind of funny and for some reason am kind of thinking of doing it.
I am just afraid I wll crack under the pressure. Part of me would love it to be a surprise at the end...the other part doesnt know if I have enough will power to not find out.

I personally would never want someone else to know the sex of my baby before I did. Mother, cousin, no one.
If you are fine with it then I see no problem with it though.

I wouldn't want anyone else to know before me. We didn't find out and it was so awesome hearing the doctor announce that it was a girl and then having my DH run out and tell everyone in the waiting room and text and call everyone else. It's so exciting. I wouldn't tell anyone before me. That's something special for you and DH, don't ruin it for yourself by letting others know before you.

If you are fine with it then I see no problem with it though.
ITA! it's YOUR baby... you should know first whether it's in the delivery room or from the sono tech. i wouldnt' do it. also, the chances of them of actually keeping the secret without slipping are pretty slim, IMO.

I would do it especially for your mother. If you believe your mom won't slip I say go for it. So what if it's your baby it's her grandchild and your mother. She is excited and probably just wants to start shopping. I say go for it and at least let your mom know if you don't find out.
