Re: convertible and booster seat
A lot of people register for the convertible seat.
As for the booster, DC won't use that til they are like four, so I'd skip it for a registery

Re: convertible and booster seat
In looking at your choices, I would suggest you consider some other options.
The first convertable seat you chose looks like the Britax Diplomat. While a good choice, you can make abetter one. The reason I say this is that the Diplomat only goes to 40 pounds when forward facing. Many children hit this weight as early as 3 years old.
I would suggest you conside the Marathon, or if you want the side wings, the Boulevard. These seats go to 65 pounds which means you can keep a child in a 5-point harness longer.
The second choice you show is the Graco Turbobooster, again not a bad choice. The only reason I would suggest you remove the booster from your registry is that the seat would sit around for 4 years before you would even use it. In the next 4 years technology may change and a better booster may be available. Also the clock on experation begins the day the seat is made. Therefore before you even open the box the seat has already had half its life.

Re: convertible and booster seat
i have only registered for the infant seat and the graco nautilus seat.
HOWEVER - my sister in law told me for my shower she will give me a check for the nautilus seat and we should hold onto it until the time comes that we need it. I thought it was such a great/smart idea. This way - we don't have this LARGE box taking over our basement and by the time we need it - there may be a different one we like or even a more updated version than the one out now.
I marked it as purchased on the registry & she'll give us a check...i LOVE the idea!

The Graco Nautilus is also not the best choice to register for. It is a great seat, but it is not a covertable seat. It is a forward facing only seat. Since children should be rear facing as long as possible, your child will outgrow the infant seat and need a convertable seat that can begin rear facing and then turn around.

ITA with this. THe Nautilus is really aimed at a child between 2-3 and some babies are in the convertible seat 4-5 months (and DC can be in it at birth rear facing!)

Re: convertible and booster seat
thank you for the info Chris & Kate....
is there a SAFETY difference between the marathon and boulevard - or are they just as good?? There is a substantial price difference in the two (it seems).

There is no safety difference with regards to safety standards. The main difference betwwen the two is a additional head support in the Boulevard and the adjustment of the sharness straps can be done by turning a wheel as opposed to having to manually move the straps from one slot to another.
With regard to the Marathon, there is side impact protection advertised. Because of the wings, the Boulevard is advertised to have "True" side impact protection.
The only complaint I have heard from parents is that the side wigs sometimes constrict taller children before they reach the weight limits (65 pounds) of the seat.

Re: convertible and booster seat
Your choices make the most sense.
You chose an infant seat and a convertible seat. Both of which will be used within a year.

Re: convertible and booster seat
I wouldn't register for a booster seat - you won't be using it for several years (4+) and they recommend that you do not use a seat over 5 years old b.c the plastic can break down over time. You are better to just register for the infant seat and if you want the convertible.
