Very Touching Video

This is a music video with David Navarro and Eric Lowen. Those names may not sound familiar, but they wrote a lot of songs that you know - including "We Belong" that was sung by Pat Benatar. Their harmonies are amazing.

DH and I discovered them at our music festival we go to every summer. I'll never forget - we were camped near the stage, and DH and I were so exhausted, we fell asleep in our tent as the music went on through the night.

All of a sudden,we heard these 2 voices harmonizing so beautifully we woke up, ran out of our tent, and asked who they were.

We loved them so much we chose one of their songs as our first dance at our wedding.

Well, one summer, we saw Eric Lowen walking around the festival with a cane. The following summer, with a walker. He told us he had ALS

Each summer he showed up more debilitated - but he showed up. Last summer he was in that high powered wheel chair, getting lifted onto the stage, and couldn't even play his guitar. He has been fighting this for 4 years, but is always smiling, happy, and performing.

Watch the whole thing, even though there is some talking and hanging around in the beginning - it's very nice, and the song is so powerful, especially when you see peopel with ALS singing it as well.

So sad I used to see them every year at the Tin Angel in Philly - it was always one of the most moving performances I've ever seen

For some reason I can't see the video at work - I'll have to check it out at home.

Very touching indeed. My MIL passed away almost 7 years ago from ALS. I watched her suffer and don't wish it upon my worst enemy. ALS is awful.

I started to watch it and had to pause it, not sure I can watch it right now

DH's father had ALS, as did his dad's brother. Both fought the devastating disease and both succumbed to it after terrible battles. It is truly a horrible, horrible disease...the body fails while the mind stays fully aware.

DH's dad never met our daughter, and he would have worshiped every move she made
