Seeing your kids through the eyes of others
Excuse me as I'm feeling a little sappy....
I ran up to the butcher to pick up a few things today and as I'm *just* about to pull out of my spot I turn my head and see that my grandparents have just pulled up.
So I get out and open the door for my grandmother who looks at me and just gives me the hugest smile and then sees that my car has her 2 little munchkins in it.
O-M-G.........when both of my grandparents turned around and saw I had the kids I can't describe the size of the smiles on their faces. It was the sweetest thing.
I realized that I'm so lucky to still have my grandparents and that I get to see how much they adore my kids. Its one thing for me to see how much they love me. I can truly say that as much as they love me, its NOTHING compared to how much they love my kids.
It made my day to see that.

Re: Seeing your kids through the eyes of others
I totally get it! My grandmother passed this year, but I am so thankful she got to spend time with her great grand son. I know it really helped when she was very ill to have him visit. She would be happy no matter how much pain she was in. They would hold hands

I know what you mean, I love seeing my grandfather with my son. It makes him so happy, they just sit there staring at each other.

Re: Seeing your kids through the eyes of others
Awww...I wish my grandparents were still alive. My grandmother passed away in May. My DD was her first (and only) great-grandchild and she brought her so much joy. My grandmother died unexpectedly while being treated for congestive heart failiure - but my mom, DD & I were the last people to visit her before she took a turn for the worse and went into a coma. I'm so thankful I chose to go see her in the hospital and "snuck" Sydney in too.
