Ok need color for my asian themed dining room?

Or.. try picking up one of the colors in the rug for the walls. I'd say a nice lighter blue with gold accents would work. Or a sage green with gold. Something to compliment the print on the wall and use those colors..
but you can't go wrong with red. Its going to be a pretty strong room when you're done with it!!

I think red is too predictable and cliche. And supposedly increases the appetite!
I'd say more of a buttery yellow or beige...
A toasty burnt umber...
A fresh green tea or bamboo green, even more pale than this to spice up your nice traditional furniture...
Muted grays would be nice too...
Are you committed to only paint or would you consider a nice natural grass wallpaper or tone on tone asian inspired print above chairrail?
Do you plan to stay traditional or go with a transitional mix?

I'd go with a slate blue, maybe pick one close to a blue that is in that gorgeous art on the wall.
I agree with the others that red would look nice too, or a chair rail with red on the bottom and a cream on top.

I love red. And that is the color i was going for but it is very cliche as one of the PP said. I like the umber as well. I want something different and not cliche. Maybe i can a chair rail with red on bottom and darker tan on top. ???

whatever you choose, the top color should be lighter - to draw your eye up...

I'm lovin the green and orange ideas that BnBDreamin posted. No matter what you can't go wrong. It's going to be a beautiful room when you are done.
And a nice burnt orange with slate blue looks very modern but traditional. I have slate blue in my kitchen with pops of burnt orange....love it. Can't wait to see your room when you are done.
