Sears Tower name to change to Willis Tower

Sears Tower will change its name to Willis Tower this summer, under the terms of a lease signed by global insurance broker Willis Group Holdings.
Willis Group plans to consolidate five area offices and move nearly 500 associates into Willis Tower, at 233 S. Wacker Drive, initially occupying more than 140,000 square feet on multiple floors.
London-based Willis said that its move to the new space, at $14.50 per square foot, will reduce its real estate costs significantly and that there is no additional cost associated with renaming the building.
It will still be the Sears Tower to me.... at least for many more years...

Soon someone will change the name of the Emprire state building to FRANK

It really doesn't make any sense. Most people won't even call it that anyway. 
To me, it will always be the Sears Tower. Just like the Triborough Bridge will always be the Triborough Bridge!

I live in Chicago and can't ever see myself calling it Willis Tower.
It's like when Macy's bought Marshall Field's a couple of yrs ago, people still call it Field's here.

what???!!! this is the first i've heard and i live in chicago... it will always be the sears tower to me...just like u.s. cellular field is still comiskey park

Should be interesting for tourists looking for the "Sears" towers!!!!
I think it's idiotic!
I am so tired with the same thing at Jones Beach. I just call it the Jones Beach Theater. They can call it whatever they want....it's the Jones Beach Theater.

just to add: do we still call it the Interborough Parkway, or does everyone call it the Jackie Robinson Parkway?
i always think its ridiculous when a name of something like that is changed....

I was just thinking one morning this week, when I saw two bad accidents on the news, and thought that "Interboro" is really almost gone. It's probably been like 15 years?
