Parents of sleep all nighters... Question?

When your DC wakes, is their diaper (wet) almost toxic eye burning with the uric acid smell?

Kristina wakes after a 12 hour sleep, and her diapers almost burn my eyes....

Is that the norm?

Well I'm not sure since he's a EBF baby, but his diapers are full, but don't smell bad. I'm sure its normal, its been sitting in her diaper all night!! Chat Icon

Some mornings are stronger than others...I know what you mean about the burning smell. Once in a while he'll have a diaper like that...other days I don't notice it at all. Must have to do with diet ...

YEs! Depends on how much liquid they drank, what they ate, but the amnonia smell is NASTY!

And for us, it was much much worse for some reason with the huggies overnights. When we switched to cruisers extra absorbency for nighttime the burning smell went away.

There's definitely at least a pound or two of pee, but I wouldn't say it smells too toxic!

I wouldn't say burning my eyes but it's pretty stinky Chat Icon I think it also depends what they drink. DD only drinks milk or water. Never any kind of juice. My sister's younger one loooves apple juice and OJ and she says DS's pee smells so much sometimes.

Re: Parents of sleep all nighters... Question?

Ryan typically sleeps 8-7. And there are days where that diaper is so full and smelly I want to vomit!

Then there are days where it is full and no smell. (You already know Ryan is EBF). I think it may have something to do with the amount of water he is drinking versus the type of baby food he had throughout the day.

I wouldn't be overly concerned.

I'm not necessarily ped concerned....

Just that smell.... OMG Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think it's the combination of the foods that my daughter eats.... We are a very Greek/Italian cuisine household....

She's been eating homemade lasagna the past couple of days (I made the pasta too) and I think that it's been so bad b/c of the tomato sauce.... Wow... it's actually PUNGENT! Never thought I would use that word when describing my daughter... Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
