It's older then that I think. Sally Field and Joanne Woodward were amazing in that movie. The book is excellent too - horrific and heartbreaking but excellent.

OH that's a different cast but the same movie, I guess the older version . This one has Jessica Lang and Tammy Blanchard in it, it's from 2007. I borrowed a DVD from a friend.

they had the new version (Jessica Lange) on Saturday night. I watched part of it and had to turn it off  It was right before bed and the mother was giving cold-water enemas to her daughter   
I want to watch the whole thing though. It was a true story

Oh, I didn't realize they remade the movie. The original was made for TV back in the 70's so I imagine the new one is more graphic.
