Feedings- Starting solids
Can you share with me your feeding schedule?
Do you offer a bottle with every solid? How many times a day do you offer solids? How much do you offer?
I feel like I have to time solid feedings JUST right otherwise they're unsuccessful If she's too hungry she screams for a bottle, if she tired she spits it out. I'm going crazy. Is it too much to offer her solids meals between bottle meals???

Re: Feedings- Starting solids
When did you start solids? I remember being very overwhelmed when I started them at 4 months trying to get her on a schedule , then stressing out even more when she turned 6 months and I had to feed her 3 times a day, in between bottles.
This is our schedule , it seems to work, but I also dont stress if I have to adjust it througout the day bc of naps/going out, etc
7:00AM bottle 8:30 cereal/fruit 9:00 nap 11:00 bottle 12:30 veggie/fruit 1:30 nap 3:30 bottle between 4:30 - 5:00 dinner 7:00 bottle
eta - as far as the amount, she usually eats about a jar and a half of the stage 2. For the cereal, which i only do once a day, I give her 2tbsp , mix in half a jar of stg2 veggies and give her a jar of fruit.

Re: Feedings- Starting solids
Yup we pretty much give a bottle first and solids an hour and a half later... 3 times a day. You don't want the solids to replace the bottle. You just want them to get used to the texture and for it to be more of a snack.
ETA: my ds didn't get it at first or like some things, but you have to keep doing it and eventually it will take. Then as they get used to it... they'll eat more and more (as they get older).

Re: Feedings- Starting solids
As you know, I am not bottle feeding however I only do 2 meals a day (breakfast and dinner).
Here is our schedule.
Wakes up 7 am - nurses for about a half hour. Plays on floor. 8am - Nurses for about 10 minutes 9am - Breakfast (cereal and a little fruit) 10am - Nurses 10:10 - nap 11 am - wakes up 1pm - Nurse Nap (sometimes) 3:30pm - nurse 6:15ish - nurse 7:15 - dinner (veggie and a little fruit) 7:40 - bath 8:00 - nurse 8:10 bed for the night
Throughout the day I will give snacks to him (banana pieces, avocado pieces, puffs, etc)
Hang in there. It took Ryan a while to really get into foods and even still there are days its a bit of a struggle. Just keep offering it and she will start to open her pallet.
Also remember solids are really just "practice" and not supposed to be their main source of nutrition. It's really supposed to come from either Formula or Breast Milk.
HTH!

Re: Feedings- Starting solids
OK thanks. She's just still taking a bottle every 3 so throw solids in the middle and I feel like she's constantly eating but I guess it's normal. Thanks everyone.
