Deleting facebook friends
So every once in awhile I go through and delete people who I really don't keep in touch with or feel like I know that well. So I deleted an ex-boyfriend the other day. The next morning I get a message from him-Sorry you don't want to be friends anymore.
uhhhh-well I really don't "chat" with this guy and it was nice catching up with him-but I never talk to him and I like to keep my friend list to a minimum. I feel bad, but come on!
Anyone ever get "caught" deleting someone and have them call you out on it? Did you lie and say it was an accident or tell them the truth?

I deleted an ex-boyfriend but he never said anything to me. If he did, I'd tell him the truth.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
i think it seems so weird that he msg'd you about it. take a hint buddy!
i've deleted people off my friends list before, but no one has ever asked me back or anything. i do the same thing as you--i catch up and then if i don't talk to them for awhile, i might just delete them.

Never been called out for deleting somebody (thank goodness). I think that's crazy that he said something to you

Re: Deleting facebook friends
Do they get something letting them know when you delete people? How did he know you deleted him so fast? I have thought of deleting few people. I just feel like I say hi or comment something nice about their status or picture, but they never say anything back

Re: Deleting facebook friends
I deleted a couple of people last week, but so far no one has mentioned it. If they did, I would be honest about why I deleted them.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
I've never deleted from facebook - just massively went into private mode. i blocked them from pretty much everything except my avatar!
But on myspace I did. it was the final step to ending a friendship and i think she was too ****** to say anything.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
That's odd that he even noticed. Because I don't think you get a notification that someone deleted you. So that mean's he was specifically looking for it. Odd. Sometimes I just want to tell people that they need to get a life with this Facebook cr@p. Honestly.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
I think it's funny when people "unfriend" you after the "friended" you in the first place! That happened to me...I didn't ask you for your "friendship" I'm sure he just wanted to see my pics.

I know, I was like how did he even notice? So I thought, well maybe he has only a few friends and that is why he noticed but he has over 100.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
I deleted my boss and another co-worker.
My co-worker understood (though I suspect she and my boss bytched about it) and my boss actually gave me an attitude and was all pissedoff at me.
Whatever, you can't win 'em all!

Re: Deleting facebook friends
I think it's strange that someone would ask why they were deleted.
I delete & then block them - that way my name doesn't come back up under the suggestions. That reminds me, I need to cull through my list more.

Re: Deleting facebook friends
that is so weird that he sent you a message! was he trying to embarrass you? what a jackazz.
i am very picky about who i friend, the only reason i think i would delete someone is if we had a falling out. i don't post private stuff on facebook anyway so i am not worried about who sees what.

After giving it some thought, I instituted a no coworker policy and then deleted a couple of people from work.
There are just too many people in my work world that I don't want having access to my FB info. (think George Constanza's worlds colliding.....)

I've been deleted but I don't give a cr@p about the person so no gain, no pain
