Is Emergen-C safe?
I woke up this morning with a cold, not too bad but my throat is swollen and my nose is very runny. I was wondering if those Emergen-C vitamin C packets are safe to have during pregnancy??

I would not take anything without checking with your OB first.

i took all threw pregnancy one and take it all threw this one too.
its vitamin c- its water soluable.
you take prenatals with vit c as well.

its vitamin c- its water soluable.
you take prenatals with vit c as well.
It also has a ton of B-vitamins which are not soluble, and the pre-nats have B vitamins as well. This is why my Dr said no.

My OB told me no additional Vitamin C period.
He said that there was more than enough Vitamin C in the prenatals, and not to touch the additional Vit C.... I always take it when I feel a cold coming on....
Ask your OB how he/she feels about it before you take it PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a nurse, and i know u should not being take an additional vit b or vit c during pregnancy unless you have deficiency and its prescribed by you doctor.

B vitamins are water soluble. I still agree though not to take anything extra without your doc approving it.
ETA: too much vitamin C acidifies your urine and can lead to crystals in your urine or kidney stones.

maybe taking like 10 a day would be unsafe, taking one or two a month is not going to do anything imo.
