I did not think about the teeth thing, DD has no teeth is it still ok?

for puffs, no teeth needed...she may just gum them but again, they disinegrate (sp?) once it touches saliva.

Like another poster stated, cut in 1/2 and give to DD...if that makes you more comfortable.

I did that in beginning too but realized it really wasnt necessary.

Thanks

What do you mix the pastina with, I imagine plain would be gross Chat Icon

When i first started making her pastina, i used a chix or beef stock mix with water to cook the pastina in, added a touch of butter and some parmesan.... oh yeah, i also threw in some formula too....

she liked it.

ETS.. but then again.... my kid is like mikey - she likes EVERYTHING! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Todd Jr has been on table foods for like 2 months now and he's almost 9 months, I started with bread--lol he only liked it for a week then got sick of it quick! Now he basically hes everything, he loves ramen noodles, grilled cheese (cut up very small) turkey and cheese on bread, mac and cheese, he eats his baby food still with these foods, and I EBF him also. Anything I'm eating I give to him to try.

He freaks out if we are in the kitchen eating, he starts to scream at us to feed him its so funny! He's gonna be a big boy!

DS was exclusively on table food at 9 1/2 to 10 months but he had 5 teeth. We would cut everything up really small and he mashed it together. We new he was ready when he would push away the baby food and point at our food while we were eating

Ava was completely on table food at 8 months. I started by making her own baby food and thickened it up leading up to 8 months. She was an abnormally good eater, though.

DD was about 8 mos. and we started with cheerios (in pieces, we were so nervous!). Once she mastered that we would just give her stuff we were eating cut into small pieces.

Yeah we haven't started yet either. I tried giving him puffs the other day and he didn't get it. He would pick it up but didn't ever put it in his mouth. When i tried to put it in his mouth for him, it was like i was trying to give him peas (which he hates). He kept his mouth tightly closed and i couldn't even put it in his mouth. I just don't know if he's ready yet so we may take it slow.

Funny thing is, everything I give Ryan goes straight to the mouth. So I'm pretty sure he'd get the concept of puffs since they just disolve and he doesn't actually have to chew. I'm just nervous about it so I haven't bothered.

Plus we are still testing out veggies and fruits since we waited to start food until 6 months.

Ryan DESPISES peas too!! Keeps his mouth shut like a steel trap door! Chat Icon I tasted them, they aren't sooo bad. But I probably wouldn't eat them either.

Yup that's what Jacen does! And if you give him something he doesn't like, like peas... that's it. Game over. Even if you try to give him something he likes after that... too late. You p*ssed him off already! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
