Do you still nurse when you have the stomach flu??
Too late now, but I had the virus Monday - thought I would die and didn't help to be home alone with DS for most of the day. I always thought you continue to nurse when sick to provide the baby with antibodies but a friend said I shouldn't have. Oopss

I was told by my OB that it's fine to keep nursing if you have the flu.

When you are sick the the BEST time to nurse. Provides the baby with the antibodies to the sickness you are currently fighting. Gives them the best fighting chance to not catch whatever you had.
I had bronchitis 3 weeks ago. Nursed DS just as much as usual and he never got it but DH did.

I agree
This was my understanding too, but my " friend" (who does not BF - go figure ) needed to tell me I shouldn't be.

I have only been sick once since having DD and I continued to nurse her. I just made extra certain to wash my hands alot.
exactly. your BM won't make the baby sick, but germs on your hands can. i try to keep my distance and restrain myself from lots of hugs and kisses too.
