Absolutely. We have been together for 17 years (married almost 11).
We have always, always, always exchanged gifts. And lot of them. I could NEVER imagine not!

We do. This year we put a limit on the amount we spent thougt because daycare is killing us!

We still exchange gifts, DH got me a diamond ring which was around 3k, plus he went to the mall yesterday and spent around 800 on other gifts for me, but i don't know what they are. He gets them all professionally gift wrapped so i have to wait til thursday to see what they are.
I spent a little over 300 on him, i got him clothes and jeans which he needs desperately.
how do you know what he spent?

We exchange gifts. My DH likes to, and he's a great gift-giver.
I set a $ limit this year, but I don't think we stuck to it.

We exchange gifts and I hope we always do. Even though the amount we are able to spend may change, I still like the idea of getting my husband gifts and exchanging with him. Its our little moment. I'd miss it, if we didn't exchange.
ITA. Also, I'm sure once we have kids we won't be spending much on each other, but the way I see it, he's great to me so I WANT to buy him something for Christmas and for him to have something(s) to open.

I can't answer for the poster you quoted, but all of my and DH's finances are joint - including credit cards. It would be difficult for one of us to not know what the other spent....

we exchange, but now that we have DD we don't go as crazy.. I maybe spend $150 on my DH total (got lots of great sales)

Yes, we always exchange. I just couldn't imagine us not opening presents from each other on Christmas morning...
We can't afford very much but we at least buy each other a little something.

We do. DH bought me a pair of earrings from Tiffany's and I got him a new briefcase and the daily office system from Pottery Barn. We usually go a bot crazier, but this year DD is expected any minute and we got sidetracked.

I can't see gifting everyone else I love and not him, whom I love most.

we always have, and i try to spoil DH. This year im PG and am not working my 2nd job, so i kept it mininal & aske DH to do the same in return. We are just barely getting by this year

We absolutely do - I personally think it's depressing to buy for EVERYONE else (parents, siblings, grandparents, bosses, etc etc etc) and yet not buy for the most important person in my life !!

We do. I am sure next year when we have a house it will cut down a lot but right now we buy what ever the other wants within reason.

We always exchange as well. We also both go a little nutty, but we tend to start the shopping early so that the bills aren't huge in January.

yes and we get a little carried away, we ususally dont buy big gifts but lots of smaller ones... He bought me a camera this yr and that was a big gift .

While our finances are joint as well, we each have one CC that is ours only that the other can't look at. Plus, like I said earlier, we start shopping early so I never know a true amount of what was spent since it's mixed in with other purchases that we make - like gas.

we do but we don't set a limit. DH usually goes overboard. as of now he has all my presents wraped with ribbon and bows and there are 11 presents. I don't think he has time to buy anymore and hopefully not since I only have 5 things for him, and I'm sick as a dog and have no idea when I'm going to be able to get and get him a few more things. we laways try to have the same amount to open.
I'm sure next year will be different as we will *hopefully* have a new house and won't be spending as much on stuff like this.
Its the one time of the year we really go all out on each other. we are both kids at heart and LOVE presents

We went overboard last year on our First Christmas together...
However, this year we put a limit. We always exchanged christmas and birthday presents...
We loved waking up christmas morning and opening presents....
I am sure once we have children, we will prob. get eachother one nice gift and spend the rest on the kids.
Woo Hoo I can't wait for Christmas!!!
