Angry at dr's office....need recommendation

So, I had my 20 week last week and was told by a very insensitive radiologist who does the sonos for the office that my baby has a brain cyst and my levels for trisomy 18 went from 1/10,000 to 1,100. Being as that I'm not a doctor, I thought this was the end for me until I went to speak with the doctor who reassured me and my husband that cysts are a normal part of brain development and absent any other indicators, it's likely nothing. I called my friend's father who's an OB and his first question was who is your doctor. He practices in the area so he knows alot of the doctors. I told him and he said, "really? he told me he wasn't delivering anymore." I told him as far as I knew, he was. After he calmed my fears, i started thinking that maybe I should just switch to my friend's dad's pratice (Dr. Marchbein). Well, my decision was made today when I found out from a FRIEND that the doctor I'm currently with is no longer delivering!!! No one at that practice ever bothered to tell me!!! I called to see if it's true and it is. How horrible is that? I asked why I was never informed and their answer was, "I don't know". Very helpful.

So, has anyone on here used Dr. Marchbein? I've only heard good things but I just want to know if anyone on here uses him. Thanks!

I am not familiar with the dr you are looking to switch to, but I'm so sorry to hear you had such a terrible all-around experience at that other office. Why would they continue to see you and schedule appointments and sonograms if they had no intention on delivering your child? Something sounds funny there...
I'm glad you got some piece of mind from your friends father and I hope that you are much happier at the new office.

there are other doctors in the practice but still, they should have told me.

Gosh, that's just bizarre!

I don't know the doctor but wanted to offer you . What a stressful thing to have to go through at this point of your pregnancy.

That is so strange that they didn't tell you!

I know the obgyn I saw told me right away that she was no longer delivery babies. I believe her malpractice insurance didn't cover her if she took care of me after I was 12 wks pregnant. I think the main reason doctors stop delivering is because obgyn malpractice insurance is insanely high.

My best friend went to Dr Marchbein's office. She saw Bergman and Marchbein did her son's bris. He was wonderful at the bris and she had only nice things to say about the practice. GOod luck!

That office is awesome. I had went to Bergman and loved him but I saw all the doctors there and loved them all (but for one). Unfortunately I had to switch when we moved to Suffolk as it was just too far to go there. You will be in good hands there!

I had a similar experience with my first OB..she sent me to another Dr. because I wanted to deliver in a LI hospital, and it was there that I learned she doesn't even deliver anymore. So i switched right then and there. I couldn't believe she didn't bother to mention it.

I would def. switch if I where you. Good luck!

I don't know the other drs in that group (although I have heard of them) but Dr. Prince merged with that group a few years ago and he has an excellent reputation.

I am a patient of Dr. Bergman, but I just met Marchbein the other day and LOVED him! He has such a great personality. Made me feel relaxed as soon as he entered the room. I highly recommend him. I haven't metthe others in the practice yet.

Marchbein and Bergman are absolutely fabulous. Marchbein did my sons bris. He was hysterical, so loving and nurturing. We all loved him. Dr. Bergman rocks!! My family has been using him for along time now. I highly recommend this practice.

I used to work w/ both doctors. I say switch, definately!! they really are great guys, care about their patients and are very, very good @ what they do!
