Which bottles
For those who plan on nursing, which bottles are you buying/ registering for?
And if anyone has any prior experience using any bottles, which do you like/dislike?

i think i will be going with Dr. Browns....
one of my friends' friends' had a baby that had bad acid reflux after birth and the only bottles that worked for her child were the Dr. Browns ones..
i have to think our child will have that issue -simply because i've had it ALL my life (as has my brother). Prior to pregnancy - i was taking Nexxium twice a day.

My SIL uses the Medela pump and has recommended the Medela bottles because you can just attach the bottle to the pump. The bottles are BPA free and also come with caps so you can screw those on and put them in the freezer/fridge.
She had originally registered for the Born Free but didn't like 'em. They were also overpriced at $9 per bottle because they were one of the few BPA free ones. Now there's alot more competition...

i take at least 4-5 tums smoothies per day - drink almost ONLY water (fruit punch with dinner - but water for EVERY other meal)..
My OB said no to Nexxium, but said if it gets bad enough - i can do pepsid.. I KNOW as i get farther along - it's going to get worse...so i'm trying to stay away from Pepsid until i NEED it...so i don't build an immunity to it - from using it so often - ya know??

in the beginning i would get one bottle from 2-3 different brands. see which one treats your baby well and then buy more of those.
figuring out which bottle to use is a trial and error thing, so best not to buy too many of any one bottle brand.
i personally use dr. brown's, after trying several different kinds. they're really great bottles, except the parts are extremely annoying and the bottles themselves are expensive. if you can get away with a simpler, less expensive bottle, definitely do it.

I thought these would be easiest with not having to steralize the bottle part and I know it says BPA free on the bootle box, but I'm not sure if the liners are BPA free.

I registered for a three different 4 oz bottles (Platex Drop-ins, Avent BPA Free, and Born Free) I plan on trying them all and seeing which one works.

I started Emerson with the Born Free bottles but she had too much spit up. We switched her to the Playtex Drop Ins and she has very little spit up if any, no gas issues, and I LOVE them.........SO easy to just drop in a liner and fill.

The liners are BPA free.
It wouldn't matter if the liners were BPA free anyway b/c they get thrown out.
The whole issue with BPA was that heating them over time can cause the plastic to leach. If you are disposing the liner after one use that doesn't make a difference.
My DS did the best on the Avent bottles. Avent also makes a drop in bottle called the Tempo which was great as well.

I registered for Medela, Born free, avent and I got a free sample of the playtex drop inns. I heard Dr. Brown's was great but a pain in the you know what to clean. Once I start bottle feeding I'll test them all and see which one works out best.

I used Dr. Brown's bottles when I was EBF since I could use those with my pump.
Once I started using formula I switched to Born Free as those were easier for me to clean all the parts since I was using a lot more.
My DD used both of those with no issues.

We used Avent with my daughter and loved them. Not BPA free though. This time we'll try Playtex drop-ins and Born Free and see how DD #2 does with them. Babies react differently to bottles but I'd prefer the drop ins since they are soooo much less expensive and soooo much easier to clean!

Yes they do!
I was going back and forth on the bottle issue as well. But after spending a weekend with my friends and my goddaughter who is 7 weeks old, I decided to use the Dr. Browns too. They are great and they minimize the amount of gas she gets.
Also, my other friend uses them for her baby because the baby has bad reflux and they are great.
I thought all of the pieces would be a pain but my friend puts them in the dishwasher basket and they are fine.
