You will be fine! I know plenty of wimps that have given birth to 3 and 4 kids. I always try to keep that in the forefront of my mind.

And I agree with the PP....the epidural is a beautiful thing! I think I love it!

Yeah, I'm a wimp, but alot less of a wimp than I used to be (going through IVF will do that to you!). I think it was the slap in the face reality last night that really did me in! That and my husband sitting next to me saying "see, it's really no big deal, it'll be fine" Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

Re: I wasn't freaked out about labor

i had the same experience in my birthing class. i didn't expect to have that kind of reaction, but i totally freaked out!!

honestly, i wish i would have just winged it... cause in the end, nothing i learned in birthing class helped, and i could have saved myself all the worry!

in the end, it might suk, but you WILL get through it!! (oh, and epidurals are a godsend Chat Icon )

i would seriously consider NOT attending the rest of the classes... no point in making yourself crazy.

Did you go to the class at Morristown Memorial? During the video, I just kept saying to DH it would be nice if they showed the video with a woman who got an epidural! or but she didn't get any drugs so it won't be that bad right? He was just green.

No.. in my OBs office. They have a nurse that used to be a L&D nurse who teaches the class. Which is kind of nice because she has a close relationship with all the Drs. in the practice and talks about how they are during delivery time and what to expect from the Drs.

To the PP... We paid for the class, and my DH is adament about going. I'm just being a wimp, and didn't really expect to have the reaction I did. I'll get over it, it was just a shock to see the diagram of 10cm then trying to imagine a 7lb baby squeezing through there! Chat Icon
