Holistic Approach
For those who are interested -- I would FM but didn't want to leave anyone out..... Yesterday I went for Amma Massage at NY College of Health Professions. It is not glamorous but I thought the massage was good -- and only $35, no tipping allowed. They have a ton of adult ed. courses in herbal medicine, massage, etc... If you are interested here is the web site:
NY College of Health Professsions
I am going to take yoga there next trimester (May 1) and am thinking about one of the cooking classes... I don't mean to be a psycho-poster, but wanted to share this info... and BD to all!!!

Re: Holistic Approach
Kara, How wonderful that you went and enjoyed it. I have suggested massages to some of the women I know having some trouble getting AF on time. I went to massage school and at the time AF was on a weird schedule due to my weight at the time. I did learn in many classes that deep tissue massages cannot be done on PG women because there are pressure points in the legs which cause the uterus to contract and you don't want to cause a miscarriage. (Also the highest point of the shoulder). My Shiatsu teacher showed a friend in the class how to work those points on me (we weren't up to that point yet) and AF came on in just a few days after that. It is also very relaxing for the mind and body and a wonderful way to stay healthy!

Re: Holistic Approach
He he he thanks ladies ...... business is going OK but I am bored here all alone!! ALso Stefanie (of baby Jared fame) posted about a place in RVC, which I called yesterday, for yoga classes - $30 for your first month, no strings (I asked), so I might do this too...

I went to RVC yoga today....and it was H E L L ..... The room is like 1,000 degrees (intentionally) and well I've been taking old lady yoga for 3 years. This class was made for Gumby, I swear!! It was sooo hard...90 minutes and after 45 I just sat on my mat. I was dizzy and nauseous at the same time. The people in the class are amazing, and the instructor excellent....but I am way too out of shape for this. Although everyone congratulated me for at least staying in the room...
