Of course the decision is yours, but honestly, if you failed the 1 hour, I would do the 3 hour. If you have GD, it really needs to be monitored for the health of the baby.
How badly did you fail the 1 hour?

I failed by 5. The problem is I can't get anyone to watch Andrew until next week or even maybe the next. They don't have Sat appts and only can take me early in the morning.
I am going to call my OB and see if there is another option.
Like retaking the 1hr instead or just watching my diet.

I failed the one hour by so much they didn't bother with the 3hr. I was sent right to the endocrinologist and within a week of that visit I was put on insulin shots along with the change in diet.

Can you take him with you? Bring toys and books and things like that...

Re: Did anyone fail the 1 hr GTT but not take the 3 hr?
i fialed my 1 hour at 12 weeks. it wasn't worth the torture for the 3 hour (since i had GD the first time) it was easier to just go right to the diabetic counselor and start with the diet. i was diet controlled until the last 3 weeks when i needed insulin for my morning fasting numbers. and the best part, i only gaine 3 lbs my entire pregnancy by following the diabetic diet. LOL

I definitely think you should take the three hour just to be safe.
I would suggest taking your son with you. When I took mine a woman had her son with her and had all sorts of things to entertain him with. It was not bad at all for her.

I would go in the morning and bring DS. Don't go RIGHT when it opens though because it's actually the most crowded then... i noticed after the initial pre-work rush of people, the lab really calms down and for long periods of time I was the only patient in the waiting room. If you have snacks and maybe a portable DVD player for DS you should be able to do ok.
Even if you didn't fail by much, I would definitely go for the 3 hr.... GD isn't something you'd want to mess around with.

I agree. Also, check with Quest, sometimes you need to make an appointment for the 3 hour, I know I was required to.
You don't want to mess around with GD.

I only failed by ONE point and my OB made me take it!
And I don't think your OB would let you just skip it
