Hospital Tour
Me, my SIL (who's also expecting and delivering at LIJ) and my MIL are going on the hospital tour tommorrow night. What kinds of things will they show us? Is it true we may hear women screaming when we walk through the corridor? (I *heard* that is what you hear when you go into L&D anyways).
I know, I sound so naive!!

I had dd at NSP so not sure if excatly as your hospital.. but I didnt hear any screaming when on tour.
They showed us the baby nursery and the delivery room, no one was in the room.

One of my co-workers who gave birth at LIJ said that was the first thing that stood out in her mind. She said it sounded like "a porno" in there with moans/screams. I guess though it's good if this can happen on the tour so I am not in shock on the real day. My husband is refusing to go............he says he doesn't "need to". We all disagree though!!! He almost had an anxiety attack the first time he went to the Ob-gyn with me and she put me in stir-ups to do the internal sono.

If you took a tour at my hospital while I was giving birth, you certainly would have heard screaming- me at the nurses who refused to wake my doctor since I wasn't crowning yet. Hmmm.. gave birth 5 minutes later!
So I guess its possible!
But honestly, I didn't hear anything on my tour. They took us all over the hospital.

Well I went for the tour tonight. It was definitely worth it, and not at all what I expected. I feel so much more at ease. Heard no "screaming" LOL and it was a much more calm, relaxed environment than I expected for some reason.
Got to see the nursery and a bunch of cute day-old newborns too!!!
