ok-- so I figured out a little pattern with my menstral-like cramps

I tend to get them at night... I didn't have anything all day, and now I am feeling a little uncomfortable.

I spoke to the nurse at the doc's office and she said just drink water, etc., but if they are persistent, they need to make sure they are not contractions. Just at one time of day does not seem persistent to me, right?

When I get these cramps, my belly doesn't get tight, so I don't think they are BH--- so, can they just be cramps-- or are they something else?

this is what i started feeling when i was 32 weeks - lots of pelvic pain / pressure at night

if it is not contractions (for me its not) it could possibly be that the baby is low or lowering him/herself

also, you are busy all day
at night, when you relax, you tend to "feel" more

Are you drinking enough water? If you drink a lot of water and lay down do they stop?

I'm not sure what to tell you. Three weeks ago, I was fine all day and started feeling crampy that night. I called the dr. and they told me to go to L&D. I was having contractions and was in the hospital for three days. I think when you have them it is worth giving the doc a call and getting checked out. I never knew I was having contractions, there was no tightening, not really any pain, just a crampy feeling.
I have had this three times since around 23 weeks - and each time I was having contractions. The first two times they were minor and stopped with iv fluids. The last time they weren't stopping and I got meds + a hospital stay and am now on bed rest.

Re: ok-- so I figured out a little pattern with my menstral-like cramps

I did speak to two different professionals on this... A friend who is a L&D nurse said not to worry, unless there is 5 to 10 an hour and I don't feel the baby move-- it's probably BH. Then there was the nurse at my doc's office who said what I posted above-- drink water, and if they are persistent, I should come in.

I drink a lot of water-- so, I don't think that's the issue.

In fact I thought maybe I was getting the cramps because of the holiday weekend, and being out and about and not home-- I usually don't drink as much as when I am home and have access to a bathroom and all the water I can get down. I thought that this was the cause as I had not experienced anything today-- until like an hour ago. So, now I am a little concerned.

I also am not working right now--so, I am not that that active during the day-- I run out and do a few errands, but it's not like I am at work all day running around the office. Basically-- I am pretty much relaxed for most of the day-- and chillin on the couch.

I just don't know what is deemed "persistent" and I kinda don't want to waste anyone's time again at the hospital. I don't want to worry-- but, if there is some cause for concern I can't help it.

ETA-- I will also add, that I was at the hospital last Monday-- due to some spotting. And I was having NO contractions, I was not dilated and my cervix was long and closed-- no indications of anything.

For what its worth, I def feel more pressure and crampy at night. I chalk it up to exhaustion.

I feel pressure and hardness when he moves...or at least I think its him moving.

At my appointment last tuesday my cervix was still closed and no effacement. It was measuring 2.9 cm, so it has been getting progressively shorter, but I would think that is to be expected by this point.
The doctor told me that basically my uterus has had enough - so it has started contracting.

Sorry to hijack, Randi!!
Don't ever think you are wasting anyone's time - whether it be your doctor, the staff at L&D, whatever - although I do know how you feel! If you are concerned, call!
