update on my cord blood dilemma
Well in doing more research and talking to the NJ cord blood bank about donation, I found out you can't do donation with twins! So that idea went totally out the window. I really don't want it to go to waste, so I decided to do it. I did not go with one of the big 3, I decided to go with a smaller company, which is not-for-profit. They were literally half the price of viacord and have the same accreditations. They also have done more transplants. They were very friendly on the phone and were not salesman like at all. I am very happy with my decision.
ETA:
I posted this a few posts down, but here is the info on who I went with:
I decided to go with the Elie Katz Umbilical Cord Blood Program.
They are associated with the NJ Public Cord Blood bank, which is who I was thinking about donating to. They told me I should receive the kits by Saturday. I also like they are local.
Here is the website: Elie Katz Cord Blood
I just wanted to also add- they can't collect from all LI hospitals - they only have agreements with some of the hospitals, so you have to check they can collect at the hospital you will be delivering.

You're welcome. I know its a tough decision, I have been putting it off for months, I literally waited until the last minute.
