Need 16 month middle of the night help!!!
OMG ladies, I totally feel for those of you who have dealt w/ this since their babies were born....out of the blue this week Googly has been waking up SCREAMING. I went in the first night & picked her up & rocked her & then put her back down, ONLY she wouldn't go back to sleep, she kept screaming & standing & reaching her arms up to me. The first night I thought it was her teeth so I gave her tylenol & anbesol. Next night, same thing, its been going on now for 3 nights in a row & I know its not her teeth.
I'm afraid I set up the pattern now of her knowing when she cries I'll come in & hold her. Last night I ended up bringing her into my bed b/c after 3 hours of sleep the night b4 I felt I had to or I wouldn't make it to work today.
Last night too, I let her cry for 40 minutes, YES 40 minutes straight b4 I went in & she continued to cry.
HOW do I break this????
Also this am when I got up to take a shower & get ready for work & she woke up (in our bed) so I took & put her in her crib & she's been crying for 27 minutes straight.
briansbaby814, I know you've been dealing w/ this recently too, has it stopped?
I'm about to lose my mind.....
Thank you!

Re: Need 16 month middle of the night help!!!
DD was just doing this to us for 2 weeks straight. One night I just let her cry and I never do and she did so for 1 hour. When I was at my last rope she finally this week started to sleep thru the night again. Several people I spoke with who have kids her age were all doing it - so maybe it is an age thing?

Re: Need 16 month middle of the night help!!!
You can definitely have many nights in a row of disturbed sleep because of teething..don't rule it out!!
It takes a while for teeth to come in, espcially molars. And at night it when it hurts them the most, when they are not active.
If it isn't teething it MAY be the start of an ear infection?? I don't know. Johnny had one at that age and I didn't realize that is what it was.
Good thing is that whenever we had a few nights of bad sleep, it always went back to normal. Hoping this is the case for you! I'm SURE it'll get better

Re: Need 16 month middle of the night help!!!
DS did this for about one week just recently. We went to sleep with him in our arms on the couch. We have never brought him into bed with us. That is our choice. I'm not bashing anybody that does.

I'd suggest that she take Michael to sleep with her, since he loves to cuddle, but that could get ugly with your DH.
