Oh, I have been waiting for this update all morning! 
I am very happy to hear that this was handled so well by the principal and assistant principal. Kudos to your DH for not kicking the living sh!t out of that guy! 
And now you all move forward without this teacher in your lives... wonderful ending!

I am still perplexed that he still tried to justify what was unjustifiable. But whatever!
I would be keeping a very close eye on him if I was a principal. The topic of the joke was no laughing matter and very disturbing that the thought of your daughter with an older man crossed his mind.

So glad D is out of his class! I wanted to jump through the computer right into the classroom as I was reading your update to smack this man upside the head.
Good for you for making him switch roles and put him in YOUR shoes as a parent. He went too far with his relaxed behavior and I can only hope he does not upset another child with his seemingly carefree attitude

Anyway, she is out. Obviously it made other students uncomfortable too. So that's not good either.

especially at this critical age, your daughter should feel COMPLETELY comfortable and safe at school.
whole situation is a little "don't stand so close to me" for me.
I am not saying this guy is a perv...but it just isn't the right impression to give off...even accidentally.

WHile he may not be a perv, he certainly opens the door to thinking he may be or that thought of his student doing something her parent's disagreed with crossed his mind.
Very glad she is transferred out of his classroom. I'm sure you'll be keeping the lines of communications open if this teacher targets her using the student buddies he does have. WHen I asked DH last night what he would have done...I didn't get passed the joking part & could see he was already tense & ready to pounce on someone over the thought of someone joking inappropriately. Again, this teacher is so lucky that Mr. Erod is a calm person. I can say that Mr. NrthSh wasn't even calm discussing it & it wasn't even his daughter.
You handled this so well! Hope the principal keeps on eye out. I find the teacher wanting to be "the friend" disturbing. There are boundaries & he definitely crossed it.

I can guarantee you that that teacher will get a much deserved letter in his file.
Yeah...that's some "teaching style" he's got over there.  I'm surprised it took THIS long for a parent to complain.

I would like to think the admin. would give him some kind of mandatory classes on how to behave properly with your students! He definately would deserve it!

To your sentence when the teacher brought up in the meeting that your DH called your DD at least 5 times. Who's business is it of his? If your DH or you for that matter want to call your DD 5,10 100 times it's your perogitive not his!
It's scary to see that some of these people are teachers. No offense to any teachers on here. But seriously I met a girl at a halloween party and she was seriously weird to the point where I asked my FSIL (her sisters party) if there was something wrong with the girl (sisters friend) and she said I dont' know but she's a teacher can you believe that? I said WHAT, are you serious?

you handled it perfectly on your end and I have to give kudos to the Principal and AP for not taking this lightly and trying to make excuses. I would imagine that a letter would be placed in the teachers file and if he's not tenured....I doubt he will be.

That stood out to me too - who the FFF is he to say that your DH called his DAUGHTER too much? I mean really, what kind of TEACHER is this?
I'm glad your DD is out of his class. I hope the administration will be keeping a closer eye on him.
