I grew up with an angel on the tree but I love stars on top now. Go figure.
I think it depends though...if your tree has a more classic look of white lights, glass balls and non-Hallmark-y type ornaments, I think the angel goes great. If you have whimsy stuff on it or kiddie ornaments like I do, I like the star better.

I always go for the star. When I was a kid my mother had an angel on top of our tree that looked like Carol Channing, so having said that... star for me!

I feel exactly the same way-especially if they have people faces. If they are rustic and not real looking then they are okay.
