Just heard a sweet sweet sound
I got my doppler in the mail today, and knew that I may not be able to pick up the heartbeat BUT sure enough- I was able to get it right away.
I was trying to count the beats, but baby wouldn't stay still... The one count I got was 130BPM.
Its soooo exciting...
9 weeks 5 days today!!!
I think Im going to tell my boss tomorrow, I feel a bit better now that I have HEARD the HB and Im so tired of hiding!

That's great!!!! I tried listening to my little one's heartbeat and even posted that I heard it... To later find it that it was mine.. Yes.. I'm an idiot!

There is a big difference in your HB and the babies. Ours is about half the speed.
The doppler came with a CD of all different sounds (your HB, fetal blood flow, movement, different weeks baby HB) so if you listen to that, its pretty easy to detect what from what.

I also rented one with my DS, IMO I LOVE the piece of mind.

Yea- Im just debating if Im better off doing it on a Friday and giving her the weekend.

here's my take on it - if you get a good opportunity, do it today. This way you can see the reaction tomorrow. It would kill me all weekend to wonder how my boss was going to act the following week. And if the reaction isn't good, at least you only have to deal with it one day before you get 2 days away plus it gives her more time to sink in. But I am sure she will be happy for you

you won't - you just need a quiet time with no interruptions. You'll feel MUCH better after and I would tell her you are telling her earlier than planned b/c you didnt want her to find out from others.

It took a few minutes yesterday..
This morning I did it for DH, and I was able to find it right away; since I kinda had an idea of where the baby liked to hangout.
Everyone is different...The "manual" says that weight plays a role, and you are usually able to hear it on thinner women easier then heavier women. Im on the thin side, but I know my SIL who is heavy was able to get the HB at 9 weeks as well...
I think if you get one now, you just have to an open mind that it MAY be too early.
