Natural sleep aids??
Does anyone use any natural remedies to help you sleep? The last couple of weeks I just literally cannot sleep. I have the special pillow (the name escapes me right now). I have it between my legs, under my big belly. Still cannot get comfortable. I am constantly switching from side to side...when I lay on my left kicks me until I flip, then I lay on my right for awhile but start to get stiff. And my back used to be comfortable but now my body is letting me know it doesn't like to lay on my back anymore, I get a little suffocated. I get hot, then cold, then sweat...it's awful. I'm exhausted at work and my eyes sting in the morning from being half open all night.
Any ideas/suggestions??? My doc told me that occasionally I can take a PM, but I'd rather not because I have a tendency to rely on them too quickly, much like caffeine which is why I don't even have the one cup a day cause I know I'll need more and more. So I was looking for some natural/homeopathic remedies that are safe for us if anyone has any. TIA!

See how your OB feels about: Chamomile tea- sometimes help. I sometimes take a benadryl and it knocks me out....
But I too just don't sleep great anymore....
My DH has been rubbing my back before I go to sleep and that has been helping to realx me but I think its inevitable that I'm just not going to sleep great anymore for a LONG LONG time

Re: Natural sleep aids??
Thanks maria. I've read conflicting things about chamomile during pregnancy, though I forget now what I read. I used to drink it pre-pregancy at night and though it may have been psychosomatic, it calmed me before bed. I'm going to call my OB and see what she says about it.

Yeah I remeber hearing stuff about it and asked my midwife ans she said a mug or two of chamomile every night was fine...
There were like 2 or 3 strange herbal teas I never heard of she said not to have.....
See what your OB says. I'm sure a nurse can answer that question for you over the phone.
You can also try warm milk...... It suppose to release somethign when warm to make you sleepy . I just can't stand warm milk unless its sweetened with somethign like chocolate and then i'm just counteracting the effects with the caffeine from the chocolate
