How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
I am so impressed with the amount of words that Christopher has been learning lately. He learned four words just yesterday!!
What is the "average" amount that they usually have at this age?

I'm with you...I am floored by the amount of words Lucas has.
Yesterday his cousins taught him "mine"...we're in trouble because he woke up saying it when I put his teddy bear back in the crib.

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
straight from the EI packet: 12-18 months - 3-20 single words 18-24 months - 50 words and combining two words
Jack really doesn't say any true words besides Dada. If nothing happens in the next month or so I'll be calling EI again!
I can't wait for him to talk - it must be so cute to hear your little men speak!!

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
DS had alot of words during that time period and by 20 months he was speaking 3-4 word sentences.
Everyday you will start to hear new words out of your child's mouth. Some words you will wonder where he/she learned it from. They are able to pick up words alot quicker at this age. It only gets better!!!!!

I believe Gianna is where she should be at the 18month mark and is putting words together, like "I dont want that", "All done mommy", .........things like that.
Def surprises me everday with some new words. She is my repeater of ALL too! Even words she shouldn't be saying

Christopher too....I am so surprised at the sentences he says "where is it?" and stuff like that....
Yeah, he learned "duck" yesterday, so we'd better clean up our language before something close to it comes out

DD has about 30-50 words - doesn't do too many strings - occasionally I get a chair sit or stairs up but mostly just a lot of single words.

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
DD is very verbal and knows tons of words, learns a few new words a week. And strings some together for short 2 or 3 word sentences. She's a big talker-- wonder where she gets that from
ETA: We've noticed a huge word explosion in the last month or so.

G has about 45 words at this point, and is forming 3 word sentences. He learns new words almost everyday.

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
I would say Cailen has about 50 words, but you have to know him to understand what he is saying - his articulation isn't the best. He tends to front most things (yeah = dah, bye bye = dye dye, etc ) but then he has some insanely long words he says beautifully, like avocado (ACawo) and Elephant (e-a-pent!)
He says a lot of "Dere it is/Here it is" and "Wer-a-yooo" for where are you... He is such a silly boy!!!
ETA - He repeats everything and tries to say something new everyday - I feel like he has words, I just can't understand them yet!!!!

Isn't it GREAT!! It really is. I love watching him have that "a-ha" moment when he knows he's said something that we understand

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
DD has a lot of single words, but sometimes she won't say some of them for months (she said Elmo at 9 months old, and has only said it a handful of times since then).

In the past month Derek has had an EXPLOSION of words. It just happened one day. He is also putting 2-3 words together...When we were leaving the hospital, he was telling anyone that would listen "That's my daddy." I have no idea how he knew to put those words together but he did. So try not to worry. I betcha one day Jack will just wake up and totally blow you away

Re: How many words does your 15-20 month old have?
josh was a late talker . he now says about 70 words but his articulation is poor b/c of low oral muscle tone but it's getting better each day. he just started using 2 words but still signs a lot.
