What can I do about this hair??

Since getting my BFP in July, I haven't dyed my hair. However, my roots are VERY bad and I feel like my hair looks so limp and lifeless. Is there anything "safe" that I can use to give it a boost? What are the things we CAN do during pregnancy?

There's nothing wrong with dying or highlighting your hair after the 1st trimester is over.

You may also want to prepare to cut your hair shorter before delivery 'cus you're going to start shedding after the baby is born.

I use an herbal dye throughout my pregnancy. It's called Herbal-tint and I get it from a Healthfood store.

Yes, there are no chemicals in it...no ammonia...etc.

I went to the store with my hair stylist and she showed me what to buy. Now I buy it and bring it to my hair appointment and she does it at a discounted rate.

I have used this product also & I like it. Just know that your hair might be more resistant to any *chemical* treatment during PG b/c of the hormones.Chat Icon

True about your hair being different. I had to get a slightly different color because of that. I usually have a red tint to my hair but right now it's pretty much brown.

If you don't feel comfortable dying your hair I would use a dye without peroxide. Like the ones that come out in 20 shampoos...

FYI : These have a lower volume of peroxide but still have it.
BTW: I am a Hairdresser and think it is fine to color your hair while p/g but that is JMO.

The store is Sherry's and that's where I get the Herbal-tint.

This is one of those things that drives me nuts... I wish that the OB's would get together and agree on it or disagree....

My OB told me not to color my hair during any of the 3 tri's b/c there have NOT been enough studies done to show whether it's harmful or not.
