I don't know why, but I felt so so  (that's mad) that his Grandmother couldn't just get a few more days !!! -
My coworker said she knew something we don't and said 'ah the hell w/ it, I can just leave now, I know he's gonna win anyway" .......

I know what you mean. I feel like couldn't she hold on just a few more days? But I think she left him believing he would win and God forbid he doesn't, she doesn't have to know any better kwim?
I'm so sad for him.

Not the same of course, but when the Yanks were playing the world series, Paul O'Neill's dad passed away. He stayed and played. The crowd gave him the biggest cheers. He was so heartbroken but had to go on.
He is tough as nails. I hope that Obama proves to be the same if he is elected.
I will never forget that game and how much we cheered for him. It will stay with me forever.
I think his grandma will watch from wherever she is and will be very proud if her grandson wins.

No matter what happens today, I am sure his grandmother was beyond proud of him. Just reaching this point is such a huge achievement--if this was my grandson, win or lose, I would be insanely proud that he achieved everything he has so far.
It's too bad for Obama and his family though--this will cast a big shadow over the day if he wins, and I'm sure he would have loved for her to know.

His mother died about 15 years ago too; that family has had more than its share. The strength it must be taking him to act "normally" now...let alone the strength to rise to this grand occasion...there are not enough words of praise....
