So upset at what other people have to say...

I work in a building where everyone has opinions and is not afraid to voice them.... well... recently, i have been asked how long i am taking off.. i an only take the 6-8 weeks that they provide us with because i cannot manage to pay the mortgage and our bills if i take any longer.... recently, ive been getting comments like.. "you can never get that time back", or "you are going to miss out on so much with your child..." EXCUSE ME!!! but unlike some of them, my dh and i just simply cannot afford it!! And now i feel guilty.. like i am depriving myself and the baby of something!!! I just need to cheer up and not let people bother me.. but its so hard when im already an emotional basketcase!!!

I'm sorry that people are making you feel that way. You just have to know that you are doing what you have to do- what your family needs you to do. I am in the same position as you pretty much- except I haven't been around annoying people!

I'm sorry people are such a$$holes! People used to do the same thing to me, I actaully ended up just walking out of my office one day in tears. You are already emotionally strained, the last thing you need is people trying to guilt you over something you can't control and thay have no clue about anyway!

I have finally learned to stop telling people our plans for any part of this PG or afterwards, my standard answer is usually "we are doing what is best for our family" and leave it at that, if they press I just smile and say nothing.

I'm sorry these people have upset you, but this is just the begining! I know how upsetting it can be, but just try to ignore their comments or tell them to mind their own beeswax! Parenting comments and advice are just as bad.....it never ends.

As in many other circumstances-- you just have to ignore what other people have to say.

For some reason, people feel the need to bestow their "wisdom" on others, with no regard for specific personal situations, etc.

I know it's hard to not be bothered by it, but you just have to try to rise above it. You are making the best decision for YOU and YOUR family. Everyone is different-- and there is no right or wrong, as long as you are doing what's in the best interest of your family.

I learned this very early - You're damned if you do, and you're damned if you don't - EVERYONE has an opinion on the subject and everyone's is different and no matter WHAT you decide is BEST for YOU - someoen will always have something negative to say -

For all the people who tell you you're doing the wrong thing, you'll find the same amount of people to tell you you're doing to right thing ........

Don't make yourself sick over it.

i'm sorry people are insensitive! i find that whenever i'm asked something that i might react sensitive to, i just always lie or avoid or change the topic...i don't need people's ideas or thoughts hope you feel better!!

People need to keep their mouths shut. Don't let them bother you.
