question for parents who r not with their childs mom/dad
when it's a holiday do you have your child call their other parent or do wait to see if the other parent will call your child? to answer my own question i have ds call his dad not for any reason but just always have. There have been cases where his dad has beaten him to it but for the most part my ds calls his dad.

Re: question for parents who r not with their childs mom/dad
well I feel that since DD is only 12years old that her Dad should call her on christmas but when its his birthday or fathers Day then she should call him
when she is an adult then I feel she should call and wish her Dad a Merry Christmas.
But if was to forget and the day was almost over then I would tell her to give him a call
she likes to wish her brothers a merry Christmas anyway so I guess it doesnt matter who calls who right??
ok ramble over

i chose other because it depends... sometimes i ask DD if she wants to call her dad, sometimes i dont. it depends on her mood at the time (she is only 5).. and sometimes he calls her, sometimes he doesnt. if he doesnt call at all and its getting late then i will call him and yell at him or text him and tell him to call her. its tough because i dont want her getting hurt. she sees him at least once a week by the way.

this is why I think I started having ds call his dad. I know his dad loves him and he only sees him once a wk as well not because he doesn't want to see him more but between my sons busy sched and his dads work sched unfortunately. That's all they get sometimes if that. But even though he doesn't see him often I feel that he wouldn't feel as important if his dad forgot so I think that's why I do it this way so ds will never be let down in the area. But just for the record I don't feel ether way is right or wrong I was just asking because my dh feels his dtr should call him (not because I have my ds call his dad just because my that's how my dh thinks) an I found my self torn because here I make my son call but yet on every holiday I will hand my dh the phone and say don't for get you have to call your dd. so as my dh stated I sounded very contradicting.
