Let's say I needed my brakes replaced on my leased car...
Do I have to go to the dealer????? The car is only a year old but I drive into Queens everyday and have been hard on the breaks.

you can go where you want
I normally take mine to the dealer b/c I get a loaner car and I wouldn't know where else to go
plus- there price seemed reasonable to me and I trust them

I don't think brakes are covered on a leased car.

It really depends on the dealership. Some may consider what you need normal wear and tear others may not.
Additionally, if you're going to get into another model of theirs and get into a new lease with them they may not do anything.
There are a number of varying factors really but if you need breaks get them, that's not something to mess with. Oh and yes, you can go anywhere to get your car fixed you don't have to go to the dealership.

not covered
unless - you really feel they should not be wore out
I did go thru that with my first lease-
in that case I would go to the dealer first and see if they will do anything

You can take it anywhere. Brakes will not be covered, and usually you'll pay more taking it to the dealer.

Re: Let's say I needed my brakes replaced on my leased car...
I always lease my cars and I take it to the dealer for the first maintenence and for anything warrantied.
Everything else is at my trusty local mechanic.
Brakes on my Honda went after 25K. I though that was early but it can happen that way.
