At someone's suggestion here I uploaded Spy-bot search and destroy. It really helped my computer. My biggest fear is always one of those keystroke viruses.

i downloaded AVG and had a ton more problems with it when i got a virus last week. so much so I had to bring the computer to my friend who is a computer tech to fix it, so maybe avoid that program.

We just had a computer issue and brought it to a guy who has his own computer business- builds, repairs, etc. He installed AVG on our computer - he said it is so so much better than McAfee (which we had) and it's free.

I have a free AV program called "Avast!". it's free and the updates are too. never had any problems

I use Norton. I was told it was the best to use for everything. Also make sure you get a firewall put on too.
